Saturday (November 21st) afternoon, Meredith went flew for the first time in an airplane; we flew from Savannah, Georgia to Killeen, Texas. We got the news on Friday that Grandpa Maness (Meredith's Great Grandpa) had passed away. Dad could not come with us without getting cleared for emergency leave, so Meredith and I (Mom) went alone. It was great to see family! Meredith was wonderful on the plane rides (we had two planes each way) and slept for the majority of both. We also rode in the car for 11 hours each way from Waco to Las Cruces with Papa and Nana Robbie. Meredith was SUCH a trooper! Mom couldn't have been more impressed, pleased and proud. It was very exciting for Meredith to meet her great aunt and uncle as well as several other close friends and family members. She really loved playing with her cousin Joby-- I'm pretty sure they are going to make great friends. Dad (Bobby) was able to get a flight out to meet us in New Mexico Monday night and fly back from Killeen with us on Friday. We had a great Thanksgiving with Papa and Nana Robbie. We will post those pictures shortly.

Please Pray
Please keep our family in your prayers. My (Jaime's) dad called this morning to tell us that my grandfather passed away. It was definitely his time and we are glad he is no longer suffering, but it is never easy to lose a loved one. Meredith and I are going to try to make the trip out to New Mexico for the funeral. Thank you for all of your prayers.
This Week
Meredith enjoyed reading books with Mom this week. She even played with and looked at the books a little bit herself. She did NOT enjoy tummy time nearly as much.

Tybee Island
Today (Tuesday) we went out to Tybee Island to do some more sight seeing in our new little corner of the world. Unfortunately Mom and Dad didn't plan very well and when we got to the island, it was a very blustery day (as Pooh would say) and too cold for a walk on the beach. Needless to say, I did not get to see the Ocean for the first time as I had hoped. The Historic Tybee Lighthouse is closed on Tuesdays and the museum was closed for Veteran's Day. (Way to go Mom and Dad!) At least we got a picture or two with the digital camera before the battery went completely dead (since no one planned ahead to charge it before our Tybee Island "adventure"). Don't worry, I am working on this talking thing so that I can help my folks remember a thing or two every now and then.
Savannah River Street
Dad had a 4-day weekend for Veteran's Day this week, so we went to River Street on Monday to see, learn about and experience more of our new home, Savannah. I had never seen a river before. It was pretty exciting. There were a lot of large boats that mom says we will go on sometime soon. I want to ride on the Savannah River Queen-- the name is fun and girly. I am hoping people can get in the river to splash and play because if I have as much fun as I do at bath time in just a little water, think how much MORE fun an entire river of water must be! This world is so exciting! I discover and experience so many new things with every passing day. I can't wait for tomorrow.

A Meredith Update
Hello, dear friends and family! This is Meredith. I am growing up fast, you know. Mom and Dad tell me every day how quickly I am growing and changing. Dad is continuously commenting on how much longer and more of my beautiful brown hair is growing with each passing day. Mom can't get over how quickly I am gaining control of my arms and hands and that just this week I have started really taking a liking to sucking my thumb. For the past 11 weeks they've been sticking these "paci" things in my mouth for soothing, but now, I can fairly consistently get my very own thumb to my mouth for the same purpose. And let me tell you something, I much prefer it to the paci that Mom and Dad have to find for me. Pretty soon I will have enough control that I get the thumb straight in every time instead of the very round-a-bout way that I am currently employing.
Just a little more about me and I'll let you go on about the business of trying to schedule a time to come and visit. (You know you want to.) I am really getting the hang of this "smile" thing and apparently it is super cute and exciting for everyone that may be watching. Dad is pretty sure that I am beginning to recognize the word "smile" as I seem to do so whenever he or Mom mentions it. (Mainly whenever Dad mentions it... I smile just to hear my Daddy's voice. I love my Daddy! I'm pretty sure I am a Daddy's girl tried and true.) Anyway, along those lines (smiles, that is), Mom is pretty sure she heard my first giggle yesterday; it was fairly brief and apparently I did not do it again although she begged and begged, tickled and tickled.
I'm a huge fan of bedtime baths and do the most talking, kicking and smiling during this wonderfully wet and fun time. If you need a reminder of just how fun and exciting the little things in life, like a warm bath with a rubber ducky, can be, just come on over to our house. You'll forget every worry you've ever had just watching me play.

Halloween
Here are a few pictures from Halloween night last Friday. I can't believe how long it took me to post these. Unfortunately, we did not get any pictures of the wiggle worm (Meredith) with Dick Cheney (Dad) in full costume. I will definitely try to get some for the scrapbook even if they aren't really from Halloween night. We had a fun time handing candy out to all of the trick-or-treaters that came to the door of our new house. I think Bobby was ready for them around 5:00 even though we didn't have any visits until just before 7:00. It was a good thing he bought extra candy while he was out earlier that day however, because we had kids by the droves! It was also great to visit with Papa and Nana Robbie as well as Cousin Joby, Aunt Janell and Jeremy via web cam on such a fun night.
