Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens

Saturday we set out to see the some beautiful homes and gardens in downtown Savannah on... you guessed it! The "Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens". We had a great time and saw some BEAUTIFUL older and newer homes as well as...Gardens. This is becoming quite redundant it seems. I guess I'll just let you check out the pictures. Meredith was a trooper; she was very alert, calm and awake (even through nap time) the entire 4+ hours of walking downtown on the tour. She did crash as soon as we left the final home on the tour (see picture).

Lady and Sons with Lolo

We went to The Lady and Sons on Monday with Lolo and had the time of our lives! The food was great (I had my first taste of mashed potatoes and I also got some of Paula Dean's sweet potatoes)! Dad decided to let me try a lemon and I LOVED it! Everyone was in awe of the fact that I enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm not exactly sure why. The waitress told Mom and Lolo that everyone was jealous that she got the table with the adorable baby and that all of her customers were talking about just how cute I am! What's a girl to do?!

Newspapers, Laundry and More Cuteness

I know it's been a while since we posted to the blog. Luckily Daddy thought to post our St. Patty's Day pictures when he couldn't sleep late last night and I have a few minutes during nap time after cleaning to add a few more of our latest and greatest memories. Meredith just LOVED reading the newspaper while Mom did some work on St Patrick's Day. She is GREAT at helping with the laundry; she just can't get enough! And when Daddy got her dressed for our trip to the Commissary, she was just so cute that we had to take pictures.

Patty's Day

In Savannah, St. Patrick's Day is a pretty big deal. They color all of the fountains green, kids get the day off from school, and the majority of soldiers get the day off too (Bobby got the morning off). As always, Meredith behaved very well, and she actually slept through most of the parade--Marching Bands and all. It was a great morning, and we hope that we can share future St. Patty's Day celebrations with anybody who wants to come visit next year or any year for that matter as long as we still live here. I have included some pictures from the parade. Thanks.

Lawnmowers Are Scary!!!

Well the sun is finally starting to shine in Savannah, which gave Dad the great idea to spend some time outside with me and soak up a few of God's glorious rays while Mom took care of some things inside. However, it is impossible for a girl to work on her tan when she is drenched in SPF 5000 sunscreen from head-to-toe. Dad got extra motivated and set up the pack-n-play on the back porch so I could hang out and watch while he mowed the leaves in the backyard that he did not have the energy or the materials to bag up since NOVEMBER....uuh, can you say lazy! Dad's motivation, coupled with the fact that he has a cheap lawnmower, turned this great idea into a tragedy. After replacing a spark plug and spilling gasoline all over his hands, Dad forgot that I was only 10 feet away when he decided to start the lawnmower. Once he FINALLY realized that I was screaming my head off out of fear--two minutes later, he still could not pick me up because he had fuel on his hands. Long story short, Mom rescued me. The pictures below are from after the series of unfortunate events that led to my aversion of yard work. In addition, I think Dad added a couple of his favorite pictures.

Fun Times!

Meredith is becoming quite the bundle of fun these days! She loves to sit all by herself and play with whatever she can reach; stand at a table, couch or with the help of an adult; eat all kinds of fruits and veggies in baby food form and talk, talk, talk. Here are just a few pictures of her most recent adventures for your viewing pleasure.

We would like to bring special attention to the picture of Meredith playing with Riley and McKenzie as we just got word that Meredith's friend, Riley Krahmer and her parents, Brandon and Melissa have orders for Germany and will be moving in May from Dothan. Meredith will miss Riley very much while they are away but looks forward to seeing pictures of their wonderful adventures living in Europe and will keep the entire family in our bedtime prayers.
